William (Bill) Schiestel started participating in 1972 when he joined Pack 59 as Member of Committee. From there Bill bridged to Troop 281 at St. Thomas and became Assistant Scoutmaster and a year later, Scoutmaster.
Bill joined the District Committee as District Camping and Activities Chair, with responsibilities of Camporees, First Aid Meets and Klondike’s. From that point, was appointed to FOS Presentations and worked as Camp Staff for Napowan and Webelos Weekend.
He also has served on Training Staff for most levels of training, completed Woodbadge and earned several Beads. Bill served on staff at the 1991 World Jamboree in Korea and Staffed Woodbadge in 1991 after the Jamboree. He has served as Assistant District Commissioner and Unit Commissioner and earned Arrowhead Award, a distinguished Commissioner award.
Bill has earned Scouters Key, Scouters training award, District Award of Merit, and Silver Beaver award and Member of Order of the Arrow
Currently serves as Unit Commissioner for Pack 59, Troop(s) 188 & 182 and Crew 188.
